ALL warranted items must be processed through our RMA system. Once the claim is determined to be valid the following policy applies:
1.) Warranty Items (Non-DOA -Dead on Arrival)
A.) If the product can be repaired Sunsetmicro.com will ship the part to the customer and walk them through replacing the part if the customer is comfortable with that. Or if the customer prefers he can ship the product back to Sunsetmicro.com at his expense and we will repair the product within 48 hours of arrival and ship it back to the customer at Sunsetmicro.com's expense.
B.) If the product cannot be fixed the customer will have to purchase a replacement and Sunsetmicro.com will cover shipping of the replacement product (ground only). The customer will be responsible to ship the defective back to Sunsetmicro.com with the RMA # provided. Once Sunsetmicro.com receives the defective product and the claim is deemed valid the customer will then be credited for the product. If the claim is not valid a 25% restock fee will apply and the customer is responsible for any shipping fees accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com.
2.) Warranty Items as Valid DOA (Dead on Arrival). MUST BE REPORTED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF ARRIVAL!
A .) If the item(s) is found DOA (Dead on Arrival) the customer will need to purchase replacement. Sunsetmicro.com will cover ground shipping of the replacement to the customer and will send a RMA return label in the box for the defective to be returned. If the replacement printer needs to be expedited it will be at the customers expense. Once Sunsetmicro.com receives the defective product back and the claim is deemed valid the customer will be refunded. If the claim is not valid the customer will be responsible for a 25% restock fee and any shipping charges accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com.
B.) If the customer wants to return the item for credit, the item will be shipped back to Sunsetmicro.com on a Sunsetmicro.com account and evaluated to determine valid DOA. If DOA is valid customer will then be refunded. If the DOA is not valid and the customer still wants a credit they will be responsible for any shipping charges accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com and a 25% restock fee on the product.
3.) What does the Warranty Cover?
WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE DUE TO MISUSE, NEGLECT, NON-COMPLIANCE, IMPROPER INSTALLATION, AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Sunsetmicro.com Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear; damage or loss of data due to interoperability with current and/or future versions of operating system or other current and/or future software and hardware; alterations (by persons other than Sunsetmicro.com; damage caused by operator error or non-compliance with instructions as set out in the user documentation or other accompanying documentation; damage caused by acts of nature such as lightning, storms, floods, fires, and earthquakes, etc. Products evidencing the product serial number has been tampered with or removed; misuse, neglect, and improper handling; damage caused by undue physical, temperature, or electrical stress; counterfeit products; damage or loss of data caused by a computer virus, worm, Trojan horse, or memory content corruption; failures of the product which result from accident, abuse, misuse (including but not limited to improper installation, connection to incorrect voltages, and power points); failures caused by products not supplied by Sunsetmicro.com; damage cause by moisture, corrosive environments, high voltage surges, shipping, abnormal working conditions; or the use of the product outside the borders of the country or territory intended for use.
4.) AS-IS or Cores:
A.) There is no warranty on any AS-IS condition item(s).
5.) Damaged Shipments:
A.) Customers are responsible to inspect the box and product upon delivery and reject shipments if the box or product is damaged. If a shipment is received damaged the customer needs to contact Sunsetmicro.com ASAP so damaged shipment claim can be filed. If a replacement is needed the customer will have to purchase again. The customer will be refunded when the shipping company refunds Sunsetmicro.com for the damaged product. The shipping company is responsible for crediting back the shipping charges to the account the product was shipped on.
B.) We recommend that heavy shipments be shipped freight to ensure no shipping damages. If customer chooses not to ship freight we are not responsible for shipping damages and customer will need to contact the shipping company to file a damaged shipment claim. If the customer needs a replacement product, they will need to purchase again. It will be the shipping company’s responsibility to refund the customer for damaged shipment and the shipping charges to the account the product was shipped on.
6.) Order Cancellation:
A.) Any special, large whole-sale or custom orders that would involve labor, removing from inventory, packing or handling is subject to a 40% of total sales price cancellation fees. This fee will be collected upfront before work on the order begins. This cancellation fee is compensation for any time and effort put into the order by Sunset Micro
7.) Key Reminders: (Please keep in mind)
A.) Once a warranty claim has been initiated the customer is responsible to provide Sunsetmicro.com with all needed information. Also, have the product shipped back if needed within a time frame of no more than 10business days or the RMA will no longer be available.
B.) Customer needs to keep all packing material in case there is a problem with the product.
C.) All items returned to Sunsetmicro.com must have a valid RMA# displayed clearly on the outside of the box.
D.) All DOA Claims must be filed within (5) days of receipt.
E.) A cash refund is only given to the customer if within the first 30 days of the warranty period. After the30 days of the warranty period the customer will only receive an in-store credit.
F.) If defective product is not received back by Sunsetmicro.com within 30 days of the date the RMA was initiated the RMA will no longer be valid.
G.) If a product has been returned to Sunsetmicro.com and the product does not belong to Sunsetmicro.com the customer has 60 days to take the product back otherwise it will be discarded.
H.) Sunsetmicro.com does not cover any shipping fees to/from customers at international destinations.
PLEASE NOTE:
If there is a problem with a product that is still under warranty and Sunsetmicro.com cannot fix the problem nor have replacement then a credit will be issued to the customer.
Any unauthorized work on the unit(s) renders the warranty NULL &VOID!
